Hello everyone!
I am trying to use Inkscape to create some graphics and I have a question about how Inkscape launches. Everytime a new file is opened or if I open this program for the first time it opens as a small window. The window is so small that there is no way I can work in it.
Now I know that all I have to do is resize it, but I would like to set the default so that Inkscape always opens in a larger window like other applications do. This would be a real time-saver.
Thanks and regards,

Inkscape Window Size Question
Re: Inkscape Window Size Question
I'd go through the program preferences. Can't say anything specific. I'll check it out when I get back home.

Re: Inkscape Window Size Question
You can create a custom default document, which is what opens when you start Inkscape. But first, the small window is the A4 size, except that it is at 35% zoom. It's made this way to have the whole page fit in a window. As I said, you can create your own custom default doc, but instead of changing page size, you may just need to set at 100% zoom.
First open Inkscape. Next, set it up however you would like it to be when you open it. Save As "default.svg" and save in Program Files/Inkscape/share/templates. That's for Windows, and I don't know the comparable folder for other operating systems.

Re: Inkscape Window Size Question
i can't remember my settings but suspect they're the default ones, so inkscape remembers the application position and size and zoom level from the last point of a save to an inkscape (svg) file.
Re: Inkscape Window Size Question
Go to Inkscape preferences - Windows

Yes, that's for saved files. But the way I read the original question, it was for new files, or simply launching Inkscape.

Hence my answer. Which works. I've just tested it on a fresh, minimized-starting Inkscape. Win 7 x64. Solved

First, I want to thank everyone for helping me with the window sizing issue. I actually used Brynn's advice to the letter and it worked fine. Special thanks to you Brynn!
