Do the dev builds work for you?

Postby url00 » Tue Aug 19, 2008 7:20 am

I'm running vista, and I can't get them to work. :(
Anybody know how?

(If I have to, I'll install xp.)

Dev builds work fine on Vista, although I'm a few builds behind at the moment. I assume you've downloaded the build from http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/?M=D ?

I'm using August 2 2008.

So what happens when you run inscape.exe? Error message?

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an
unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Does this have to do with Vista being 64 bit? I'm confused...

II got build 19663 to work!
No idea why all the ones after it fail in Vista...
Should I report this as a bug?

I have Vista 64, and it shouldn't matter. When I get home I'll test that build if I remember. I wouldn't bother reporting it as a bug at least until it remains in a few builds. And then I would contact the developers as it might be something they are in the middle of working on.

I can confirm the same error here with that build. I would report it to the developers if the next build has the same problem.

A crash on start-up in Windows (for revision 19729) has already been reported: bug 259237.

I hope this gets fixed. :(

The new build (Inkscape19750-0808250930) STILL crashes when using the node editor to edit paths.
I'm still using Vista, because the ubuntu installer is crazy.

My build that i've done myself is fine...
