UI problems on Ubuntu

Postby Bucic » Mon Feb 21, 2011 12:54 am

Ubuntu 10.10 x64. Graphics drivers (opensource) seems to be working correctly as I have no performance issues nor crashes.

The problem is with the Rulers. The cursor position markers don't get refreshed as depicted below, making Rulers practically unusable. Few cursor moves and the markers smudge acros the rulers with a solid black trace.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

I had the same question. Apparently a known bug that's being fixed in next release.

Ah, thanks. It doesn't seem like a showstopper to me fortunately. If I only manage to install Blender 2.56, I'll have my 600 MB RAM old laptop blazing fast and packed with all the creativity software I need. Awesome!

BTW, I feel completely excused as there was no way I could have found your funny named topic as a match to the issue :P

Yes, it's a bug triggered by recent GTK+ versions (2.22.x), and it is fixed in current trunk as well as for Inkscape 0.48.1 (and the fix is getting backported to Inkscape 0.48 used on Maverick):
