Hi Guys,
Im having a hard time getting my head around this.
Basically I have artwork thats a simple line drawing done as paths.
If I select each path individually I can use the 'convert selected object's stroke to paths' when I have the 'edit paths by node tool' selected.
The problem is I can't work how to convert multiple paths at the same time.
Ive made sure I have no fills selected...just strokes but to no avail.
The image I have is quite complex...a golf ball (with the indents drawn) and golf clubs....its not viable to go through every stroke and convert the strokes to paths manurally.
Unfortunately I do need away of converting the strokes to paths as im intending on using the images to put through an engraving machine.
Many Thanks for the Help!
Regards,
John
Outlining Multiple Items in one go?
Re: Outlining Multiple Items in one go?
Hi John,
you may need to ungroup the objects before you do this. Stroke to Path only works on selected objects, and a group does not have a stroke.
So, select everything, hit Ctrl+U until there aren't any groups in your selection any more, then do Path -> Stroke to Path.

Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!

Cheers mate, worked a treat!
Re: Outlining Multiple Items in one go?
I'm glad it worked for you, but ungrouping all your carefully made groups is not a good idea for something like this, instead please use the "find" dialog to select every object with a 'stroke' attribute. The find dialog selects within and outside groups without any restriction. Thereupon you can from the path menu use the stroke to path command to do what you wish. The find dialog even has a scope setting so you can use it to recursively narrow the selection. It's a powerful tool that is not used nearly as often as it should.
Your mind is what you think it is.
