Tablet and Mouse Conflict - anyone else run into this?

Postby tigerbike » Wed Feb 10, 2010 4:14 am

I am trying out an older model tablet, and the mouse it came with is dead, and there does not seem to be a replacement available. Inkscpape seems to recognize the tablet, but only "sort of." It lists it in the "input device" pull down, but I can not change any of the settings in there (not sure what to do with them anyway), and clicking save in the dialog does not seem to do anything either. I can draw with it, but the buttons on the stylus which emulate a click or double click when used in Windows do strange things in Inkscape. The biggest issue is this: If I open a new Inkscape drawing and draw anything with the stylus (which does work) the regular mouse attached to my computer will no longer register on the art board. I can still select tools with it, but cannot use it with :tool_node: , :tool_pen: , :tool_pencil: , :tool_text: , or any other drawing/modification tool. I can close the drawings and reopen it, then the mouse will register. Use the stylus, mouse is dead again. I would like to use them interchangeably. Any thoughts anyone?
