Trying to fill a cutout area
Hello guys. Newb here with Inkscape and vector graphics. Trying to learn my way around. I have a image that has a cutout that i'd like to fill and then delete the cutout. The white you see below is just the background. How can I get that filled a color and then delete all the black around it? So all I end up with is the "font" text? I know I could accomplish as a raster file but would like to keep it as vector. Also attached is the svg.

Hi.
Use the node editor
Unconnect some of the nodes, delete unnecessary ones and connect the end nodes in a different order.
Shouldn't take more than a few clicks.
If stuck with the tool's options, check it in the manual.
This is how it would look:
Good luck!

Thanks a ton. I knew there had to be a way and that it was something simple I was missing. I swear I tried clicking that tool before. I think my problem was, instead of trying to edit the object I was trying to put a square behind it and have it "cut"the square to match the shape.
