I dont understand the behaviour of Groups and Gradients.
Lets say i have text converted to path, but still grouped.
If i add a gradient it is applied to the whole group.
When i select an individual letter with the gradient tool however, i can change the gradient for that particular letter.
When i select an individual letter with the gradient tool and reverse the gradient, it is applied to the whole goup.
I have to select indivual letters to reverse the gradient manually, instead of just clicking the reverse button...
Is this all expected behaviour ?
Groups and Gradients
Re: Groups and Gradients
Nobody knows anything about this ?
My understanding is that groups are like an abstract container.
How can a group have a gradient fill ?

Re: Groups and Gradients
Groups are containers however they have their own options for transformations and for style attributes.
Don't know how you triggered the issue -or what exactly do you want to achieve-, it works here "as expected".
Like, what exactly is selected, how you reverse the gradient etc.
Are you using the gradient tool with the object inside selected, AND clicked the padlock icon in the gradient tool settings?

Not sure what is going on.
I assign a gradient to my text.
On a copy of the text, im manually reversing the gradient on every second letter.
I select the text as a group, the gradient handles appear, but nothing changes when i adjust them.
When i select a single letter, only the gradient of that letter changes. Although in the gradient menu, there is only one gradient....
When i click the reverse option in the gradient panel, all gradients reverse when the padlock is locked.
Its very confusing.

Re: Groups and Gradients
I see.
I guess that behave is intentional, like on the "N" it the top row. Instead of changing the gradient handles inside the group, try out adding a flat fill instead to some letters. Then, exiting the group you can still change the hanle of the "global gradient" unaltered inside the group.
The other way around it would be more confusing why the fills would change back to the global gradient definition.
