Import .tif -> crash
Does anyone else get a crash when importing this .tif http://www.petaimg.com/uploads/1220359510.tif into Inkscape 0.46?

Yea, it's a known issue. Any file which the loaders can't handle results in a crash if you select it in the open/import dialog. Drag & drop is safer... if it doesn't work nothing will happen.
I suggest to open the file in Gimp or whatever and then save it there as PNG.
