Postby linebender » Mon Oct 10, 2011 10:19 am

Inkscape is drawing a big red X and "Linked Image Not Found" box over an image I have in one of my inkscape drawings.

Select the image and the message in the status line tells you the path to the image and its name.

Alternatively, right-click the image and choose 'Image Properties' from the context menu. In the dialog, you can edit the path if you know where the image has been moved to - also described in Alexandre's article Inkscape: embedding or linking? | Libre Graphics World (scroll down to 'Relinking').

Thank you, ~suv

the path in the status line is pretty unwieldy, but the right click method produces wieldyness...if that's a word..
