Hi InscapeForum
Love that you have a platform for the Inkscape community to exchange questions and anwsers. That is why I came here.
Problem: As a New User, after registering I was notified that :
My question has to be approved by an administrator....frankly that's fine with me.
My problem, I have a question that I need help with (now) and I am suppose to wait 2 hours to 2 days for my post to be approved.
I posted a question, you approved. I received a reply from a current user. Did not solve my problem. I posted and asked for more help. It says I now have to wait for administrator to aprove my replay.....tick-tock..tick.tock..tick..tock.... I understand reviewing new posters, blocking spammers etc. But your approval time is "why to slow"....Sorrry, I need help now. That is why I came here. Really, when you are working on a computer program you can't just say "ok, we'll just sit this aside for a few days"
Just my "vent". Do what you may. I understand I have to go through this five times before I can actually communicate without a 24 hour delay.
Maybe I am on the wrong site? I really don't mean that in a bad why. It's just the "tick-tock, tick-tock" ....I just need help without the delay.
Thanks So Much and Have A Great Day

My apologies, but the forum software has lame spam protection. From what I've seen, all the free one seem to handle it unintelligently.
Sifting the through the new posts It's a tedious process. Nobody like doing it, so I do it myself.
It's only 2 posts you have to have moderated.
The alternative is to not moderate them, and you can be pretty sure that most of the reply you will get will be spam. The forums would be nearly useless with the amount of rubbish posts that would pile up.
Re: Approval Process For New Users
just an idea but if you mean spam by machines then you could fix a 'check' field for responses? Like the ones you have when joining the forum with 'proof you'r human!' or writing the letter showed in the scrambled image.
Re: Approval Process For New Users
Did you not notice the CAPTCHA you completed when you registered yourself?
Re: Approval Process For New Users
yes I noted that but i couldn remember the word so wrote 'letters in scrambled image' It took more then a week before my 2 posts were placed so can imagine you must be busy especially filtering out the spam.
Just some brainstorming here, but maybe you can let users write a special word in the beginning of the post (like tomorows date or a number or something) so you can delete/filter out all the posts that don't have that, and approve the rest, all in 1 click without having to read them one by one.
