How do I make my text change color based on what color its on top of.

Hello, I am using inkscape to create a logo and i am having trouble trying to figure out how to get the text to be a certain color based on the background. I want my text blue when over a white area and white when over a blue area. How can I accomplish this?

There are two ways that I can think of:
- use a filter that changes color depending upon what is below
- convert text object to path, then use Boolean operations to cut the letters into pieces and color those pieces differently.
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
