why it is not working?

look in the bottom left corner of the window. It looks like your stroke is the same color as your fill! Also it is very thin, 0.365. To make it black, shift click on the black swatch above the fill and stroke patches at bottom left in the palette bar, or in the fill and stroke dialog drag the little circle to the black tip of the triangle . To make it wider either right click on the 0.365 number or open the Stroke style tab and change it there.
