I've been a long time Inkscape user and very happy with it, but I've noticed that there hasn't been much in the way of updates in a very long time. Has Inkscape fallen by the wayside? It would make me very sad if so.

It does seem to be one of the longest periods of time without an update. Last minor version update was 48.4 in January. Version 0.49 has tons of changes so I suspect that that's the reason it's taking so long. Switching rendering engines is probably quite hard.

That being said, the last development build is from October 12th, so things are moving, that's for sure.

As a non-developer and avid users it seems, to at least me anyway that there is very little activity on the Inkscape website as far as any information goes.

I am relieved that there is still active development going on and am very much looking forward to the update
