Save each layer as a separate .svg file

Postby mai.n » Wed Jun 29, 2016 6:23 pm

Hi everyone!

The inkscape file I'm working with has multiple layers, but I would like to separate each layer into a new svg file. How can I do that?
If I copy each layer and paste to a new document, the object appears rastered in the new document when zoomed in. That does not happen to the original object.

The dumb way is of course, to make multiple copies of the original file and delete the layers that are not wanted in each file. But I am hoping to learn a smarter way from more experienced users.

Thank you!
Mai

With regards to copying and pasting into a new document, I'll bet you're on a Mac. See this section of the FAQ for a less-than-perfect workaround to the problem: https://inkscape.org/en/learn/faq/#mac- ... fic-issues
