Problem with vectorization maps

Postby cinkowe » Wed Nov 26, 2014 5:46 am

Hello,
I have some problem with vectorization maps. When I use automate vectrorization maps I do not have result which will be rewarding for me. My problem is that I have a map of the country, which is delimited borders. I wish each of these areas was a separate element of the XML document and had the structure:

<svg:svg id="svg2">
<svg:g id=ect>
<svg:path id="state border 1">
<svg:path id="state border 2">
<svg:path id="state border 3">

It can be done manually by drawing each border, as a separate line?

Thanks in advance for your help

Yes, but in XML Editor, will not be "state border 1" etc. Instead, will be "path1234". I'm not absolutely positive about this, but I'm pretty sure you can change "path1234" to whatever you want. After you draw the path, right-click > Object Properties, where you can change the ID and/or Label (click Set, to apply). I don't know which one you will need. But you can open the XML Editor, with the path selected, and see how each item changes the XML/SVG.

Hi.

Can you link to an example file?
It would be easier to work out a solution if we see what you are starting with, how you "automate" the generation of the maps etc.
