Hi Inkscapers:
I'm working on a free and open source photo manager project with working title phraymd (https://launchpad.net/phraymd). I'm in the process of packaging the app up so I can attract a few more testers. As part of the packaging I need an application icon. Since phraymd is a play on framed, I'd like to use an icon with a theme of "framing".
One idea along these lines:
obviously this is hand drawn and will need some tweaking on sizing etc to make a good icon. My inkscape skills are pretty poor so I was wondering if someone might be able to point me to a few tutorials that would help me realize this icon. I want the icon to have a 3d rendered look that would fit in acceptably in the standard gnome desktop icons.
Alternatively,
1. If someone would like contribute to phraymd by having a crack at SVGing the concept as an icon I'd be very grateful (your choice of color scheme). You would get full copyright attribution (licensing to phraymd under an appropriate license) and credit for you contributions.
2. Maybe someone has better ideas for an application icon? Same deal with credit and copyright attribution.
The less time I spend on art and the more on code the better
