What happens is this: I have grouped some objects (Ctrl-G) and then clipped the group with a rectangle. I then double click the clipped group and then Inkscape "enters" the group such that individual objects inside the group can be selected and moved. This means that when the group of objects has been collective clipped the clipping stays put at the same spot when moving the objects, so that you can move objects in and out of visibility at the clip border. But the major problem is that even if I completely deselect everything and try to create a new object, say a rectangle with the rectangle tool, the created object is somehow placed inside the clipped object group! And I can't for the life of me figure out how to exit that clipped object group. All objects that I create, lines, rectangles, stars/polygons, text, pasting anything from the clipboard, gets placed inside the clip.
Can someone help with this awkward problem?
This happens in both 0.48 and 0.91.
EDIT: Found a way to circumvent it: Simply accessing another layer (just an empty dummy layer will do) will make Inkscape exit the group of clipped object when I select the first layer again. If there is an explanation to this or a more elegant solution I'd be interested
