Messed With Defualt.svg, Saved Crappy Initial View

Postby SureWhyNot » Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:54 am

I altered the defualt.svg file (the template that loads when you press the newpage button) to include some new filters I downloaded. I think I got that to work right. But now, whenever I make a new page, it's off center and zoomed out weird, probably because of how I saved it. Even if I overwrite it with a centered view, it doesn't change it.

Anybody know how to fix this?

Are you sure you really overwrote it? If you open a file, change the view, and then save, Inkscape won't save anything, as it thinks there are no changes to be saved - it doesn't consider that changing the view is a real change on its own. So you need to make some other change before saving - e.g., draw a rectangle and then delete the rectangle (not undo).
