Using colour bar at the bottom of Inkscape

Postby anon_private » Thu Oct 16, 2014 10:03 pm

Hi,

I am having trouble selecting colours.

What is the recommended method?

Select tool, then colour, or vice versa.

How is the bottom colour bar used

Thanks

Ps. Very new to Inkscape
OS is Kubuntu
Inscape Version 0 48 4 r9939

I'd check out the tutorials in the links below.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Hi.

It goes like
select object, open fill and stroke panel (Shift+Ctrl+F) and set colour
or
select object, select dropper tool (D) and select colour (or stroke colour by holding Shift too)
or
select object, pick a colour from the bottom palette.

Note that in inkscape you always have to select the object you want to edit some way, which is not the case with raster graphics.
