i can from corel draw and was gutted to find that i could not put it onto my mac - yay when i found inkscape.
But the programme has progressivly gotten less functional since i started using it.
I am on mac os snowleopard 10.6.8 with all up to date and reinstalled xquartz and inkscape 0.48-2.
The files i have previously created are distorted when i open them, a relativley simple vector file i did will not allow b eot continue working on it and the trace function is terrible.
- moved once from original place when i oened the file. Moving the vecotr lines distorts the shapes...?

what am i doing wrong? I have wasted so much of my time trying to figure out what is happening - all advise welcome
