[Solved] Font containing icons

Postby piotrass » Thu Apr 02, 2015 11:45 pm

Hello!

New user of Inkscape here. I need your help. I would like to make a font containing icons. I decided to download free icons (in .svg) from flaticon.com (I don't advertise it, just write the name in order to give more information about the object I'm working on). My idea is to put such icons, one after another, under the concrete letter in my font. I know that my icons don't have the path. So I went such way: Combine + Stroke to Path. Problem is I've lost the black fill colour. I can put the image to the font without the colour, but after filling the closed paths I can't. What should I do?

Hello there,

it looks to me that those icon svg-s are already paths -they should be; on the file I tested there was not even a stroke to be converted to path.
Keep an eye to the bottom indication bar.
Probably the path is grouped together several times, press Ctrl+Shift+G to ungroup objects, and combine them after if necessary.
