Using aliased postscript fonts

I'm wanting to create diagrams that will be exported to postscript or PDF and use the standard Times or Helvetica postscript fonts. Under Skencil, I've done this using the gsfonts-x11 package (Ubuntu) which aliases the ghostscript fonts to be available under the adobe names. However, they don't appear in Inkscape - so is there any other way of using the ghostscript fonts, but then with the exported file referring to the Adobe names, like Helvetica?

I, too, would be interested in this feature. It seems ImageMagick accomplishes this through an explicit mapping:
