Can someone recommend a free HTML Editor where I can experiment with SVG files made in Inkscape, as well as create simple web pages?

I'm not a coder or hacker or programmer. I've heard from those kind of people mixed reviews about Notepad++. Some say awful, some say wonderful. However, it seems quite adequate for someone who uses casually, like I do. I made this simple page using Notepad++

However, note that not any text or code editing software can create webpages unless you learn the code yourself (html, css, whatever). It's not like a template or wysiwyg editor or something. You can create as simple or as complex as you like webpages, using almost anything like Notepad++

(I also haven't ever heard of Weebly and Coffee.)

Maybe use a html ide that allows you to edit and test directly in your browser see codepen for exemple http://codepen.io/

I'm using Texpad 4.7.3.

Not free, but "nagware"... all features work, but occasional prompts to purchase license.

Bluefish is free and open source, and also available for Windows. It's not fast (at least not on my system), but it provides lots of pre-made html tags to 'just insert'.

You can consider KompoZer, MoreMotion Application Studio, BlueGriffon, openElement, etc., as they're all free and easy to use.

Nah, those are good suggestions.

I'm using NotePad++ for my Window 10. But Komodo Edit and Eclipse are also not a bad choice!

Locking doesn't delete anything, it just prevents new messages. This kind of topic tends to attract spam, that's why I suggest it.

Ok, making some edits here.

Banhammering a spammer removes all of their posts so if you see one message and write related posts on it, please quote the original, while editing out the unwanted content.


Then again, for other moderators:
if the message is looking half decent but NOT 100% related to the original topic, it is a useful idea to search for the message.
This case the spammer quoted probably this page.

I should have hammered him. Its tinymce post was valid but from its other posts it was quite obvious he 'll probably edit it to add spam sooner or later.

Thanks both! The link to the java site, and knowing what tinyMCE really is (it's a js library plus some html that one can integrate into one's website - it doesn't make any sense to suggest that for editing html on desktop), did it for me.
