Re: New inkscape
Welcome to InkscapeForum!
1. Info about 0.48.3.1: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=12627 (long discussion, confusing, but all the facts (from ~suv) are correct!).
2. Do you mean you want to use Inkscape to create websites? Yes, it can be used for that. Be sure to look through the extensions found here, because some of the features that you might need to develop websites are not (yet anyway) built into Inkscape http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... Repository.

Thanks for your response , what you mean when you said "...because some of the features that you might need develop website are not build..." I want be UI designer and website, my idea is make a concept of my sites for after export the images and start to work with CSS and HTML5, now i know than gimp and inkscape are different app, but in both you can develop concept for website/UI, what do you recomend me for start to learn in-depth, gimp (easy photo editing manipulation) or inkscape (vectorial images, easy to work as object)???
Thanks and sorry for my english. I speai spanish and not much english but i am learning it
Thanks
Re: New inkscape
Someone else will have to discuss whether GIMP or Inkscape would be better for you, because I'm not familiar with the particulars of web design.
What I meant about "not built in" is that when you install Inkscape, there are a lot of extensions readily available, right there in the Extensions menu. But at the link I gave you are more extensions, which don't necessarily appear in the Extensions menu. Some extensions which might be used in web design are found at the link (which is a the Extensions Repository) which are not installed.
