How to learn to work with 3D boxes

Postby Amadeus12 » Fri Dec 12, 2014 9:45 pm

How did you learn using 3D boxes. I have been working with this tool for quite some time but even after reading about it, I cannot get good results.

Any tips (apart from reading the manual) are more than welcome.

Based on your other topic, I assume you want it to draw a precise representation on a 3D scene.
Can you show an image, what kind of object(s) you want to draw?

Edit:
Found this site, with many useful info on technical illustrations, including 2 point perspective.

I got it. I tried to make a perfect 3D cube and I succeeded. After a lot of trying. Thank you for your answer, Lazur.

There is no way to draw a perfect cube by try and error, but with a sort of constuction it is possible.

That box is not high enough for a cube. The wide angle doesn't help to show the proportions.
In the attached svg there is a cube constructed that is close to match the original's top face.
You can drag the "x" handle in the middle and move around to move the box in it's edge's direction and see how it looks in different positions.
