I am well aware that this is rather something for children, however, a self-made connect the dots image can also spark some curiosity in adults
Now, I am well aware that there is already an extension to enumerate nodes in a path (Visualize path > Number nodes). However, this extension did not quite satisfy my needs as it places numbers at a predetermined position next to the dots. This may lead to the undesired case where you want to connect two dots and the number is in the way. My extension handles this case a bit more intelligently by positioning numbers where they do not intersect the path (i.e. when connecting the dots by hand).
