Welcome to InkscapeForum!
Thank you for greetings
brynn
Nice to meet you too - even via virtual world.
I would really love to see Inkscape offer different "skins" or themes. And because it's an open source project, anyone who feels they have the necessary skills can just step up and write the code. I guess that developers would have to approve it, but if it's done properly, I don't see why they wouldn't approve it. I suspect that setting up Inkscape so that different skins/themes can be used, would not be very hard to do, but I don't really know much about coding.
Well - I have to say the same. I prefer making CG/designs than coding.
You are talking about workspace - does the Inkscape have ability to change it in some non offensive way?
I like the color scheme of your set. Especially I like the purple on the Raise, Lower, etc. set. The only one that's not clear is the 2 dots, a blue one and a white one, diagonal from each other, that's the last one in the 2nd column from the left. I have no idea what that one is.... ?? And my last comment is that I would keep them in the same order they currently appear in Inkscape. People get used to buttons being in a certain place, and if you move them people will notice. Well, unless someone did write a skins or themes plugin, which includes the ability to move toolbars around, and move buttons around. Then users could really, really customize their workspace. That would be awesome!!
Thank you.
Those two dots are not finished yet. They will be used as a "snap to grid" icon. Well, I pasted it but please keep in mind this picture was done only for preview purposes in 5 minutes

I did not paste everything.
Some of presented icons are going to be reworked. You know - when you are looking sometimes on your work effects, you feel this can be done in other way to be more attractive.
The idea of present icons of Inkscape is simple and made with a good shorthand so I decided to only redesign them.
I want also make 3 sizes of this set. Two complete (including all icons + some bonus) and one big version only of main toolbar on the left size of program.
A questions is: when you want to put a new version of icon (radically different), will it be very uncomfortable for the user? In my opinion this will be not difficult to find a proper tool under icon, if you put a very readable appearance and maybe additional info (a small text suggestion after mouse cursor pointing for example)?

Nevermind. I am loudly thinking.
Plugins or module idea is very very cool!

You might hit some resistance with making these the default icons, but you may have luck having them included as an alternative.
The best place to ask is on the developers mailing list.
Hello
microUgly and thank you! I appreciate that.
I have to ask on mailing list but I will share my work effects here for now.
