"Put on path" problem: vertical offset

Postby petritent » Mon Jul 16, 2012 2:02 pm

Hello.
I'm new to Inkscape, so I can't figure out why my text isn't aligning properly when I try to put it on a path. It conforms to the shape of the path, but it's vertically offset. So it's not touching the path.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong here?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Hhmmm.....that may be related to a known bug. Can you select it and move it into place?

Thanks for your reply!

Yes. I've been dragging the text into place. Works okay, just an extra step.

The bug that's probably causing it can usually be avoided by creating a new layer, and working in that new layer. I'm not sure if you moved everying that's already existing into that layer, if it might move the bug info too. But if it can be done, you could just start putting things in the new layer. I see that you have quite a number of paths to put text on. So maybe worth trying, although again, only if the image can handle it, without causing you more problems :D

Thanks for the suggestion. I created some new layers and the problem went away. *relieved sigh*
