This is the full sized version of my avatar and the picture that I created it from. There are some more touches that I could add like the ears; however, I do not think they would be visible at the avatar size.

Looks good. Maybe I should try something like that. The only massing with photos that I've done so far with Inkscape has been the origami mask in my avatar picture.

With your level of talent it should be no problem for you at all. The thing is that it really doesn't actually take that much talent, just guts, because after you trace all of the lights and darks on the face it will look terrible, that's when you have to have faith that its gonna work out and keep working with it. Usually the part that looks the worst will end up being your favorite part of the image when your complete.

Nice work!
You hit the nail on the head with that. I always get caught up on detail too early and waste a lot of time instead of pushing through and tweaking things at the end.
