[solved] Kern, baby kern

Postby cole007 » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:33 pm

Hey all
New to the forums but been enjoying Inkscape for some years now - use for all my design and web work. Loving some of the enhancements in 0.46.
Anyways, am aware of kerning text on individual letters, but is there a way of applying global kerning to a block of text (so that each letter in the group undergoes the same amount of kerning?)

Diolch in advance,

Cole

Yes, you can adjust the letter-spacing ("tracking") using Alt+< and Alt+>, or Shift+Alt+< and Shift+Alt+> for bigger increments. (But this isn't kerning, as the purpose is different.)

Genius - many thanks for the tip and clarifying what I meant - being a jack of all trades trying best to teach self about typography when time allows....
