[solved] How do you convert raster image to vector??

I have a drawing that I need to transfer into vector form for a screep printer. He asked for it in Adobe Illustrator but I think (AI) can take most forms of vector images??

My experiance with printers is that whilst they ask for AI or EPS, they don't really understand what that means. If your image is a currently a bitmap you may be able to provide it as a TIFF. AI and EPS can both embed a TIFF images which means whilst it's an AI file it's still technically a raster image - no vectors are involved.

If the printers definitely needs a pure-vector version of your image and your image is currently raster/bitmap you'll need to use the Bitmap Trace feature. Note that this won't create an exact and precise vector version of a bitmap.

Note that Inkscape can't save as AI but it can save as EPS which the printers may also accept.
