hi there,
I'm searching around but I still haven't found anything about this idea.
Is there a way to paint particles?
I mean, it would be nice to have a sort of brush to paint particles.
have a look for example at this image:

Look how he painted the players using particles made of circles.

Re: Painting particles
with Gimp in http://gimp. org is not very complex!
de saturated, then the colors of blue and then we throw the brush with gradient and jitter, or with dynamic effects! then maybe throw it in inkscape with the filter vectorized bitmap ...

Re: Painting particles
Yes,
it is a workaround, but my wish is for a Inkscape native tool, it would be great!

For the figure in blue complivhi your life! you'll want to go first to Gimp ...
As the circles you move an object several awards from the keyboard while the bar "Space" will duplicate the object continuously (therefore agrees to act intermittently)!
This has interesting options and then move those unstable duplication as well as color change
the rest can be seen in the filter if there is something useful ...
Re: Painting particles
See the manual http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL ... Trace.html.
You can use it on a 1x1 tiling (group your particles first)

Re: Painting particles
I would love such a tool...
This is a manual example of a recent piece i did...
(self portrait) totally manual....
A particle fill type plug-in would be awesome (or native tool)...
I can dream up all types of options...
i would like to have it as possible alternative to gradients in that the particle density would change to denote the gradient and you could have similar tools and controls as is currently available for gradients...
IE conical/radial, linear...etc you could change grain size max and min have a profile curve...... random factor Etc...
feather control to make the edges of shapes "particalize" etc...
the sky would be the limit
