Impossible even. Why should it be so hard? First I struggled to get any line I draw not to disappear after I've drawn it. Why on earth would anyone design it to work like that? IMO that's a bad idea. Anyway, I then find out that you're supposed to double click on the end of the line to make it stick. Brilliant. But then even that doesn't get me to a point where I can draw a bezier curve because… so this is my question:
Having chosen the bezier curve tool, I click on the page and drag a bit. So I now have a point where the line starts with a bezier handle a bit of distance from that point thus giving me a curved line to where ever my pointer is now. I click and drag again and establish a nice curved line. Where the end point of the line is, there is no visible point. There's bezier handles, straight line, going through the non-visible end point of the line. So my problem is, there is no point to double click on in order to establish the line. WTF? Why make this so hard. Very bad design IMO.
How to establish the line I've just described?
Thanks.
finding IS's way of doing bezier curves really unintuitive

Hi.
Use the pen tool to set up nodes at the right positions, just by clicking, no dragging, resulting in straight segments.
Then use the node editor tool, to adjust the segments and handles: by changing nodes to smooth ones, segments can have a good start for having nice curves.
