Hi.

I just recently tried to open a svg file by dragging the file from an explorer window into Inkscape canvas.

I was a bit supprised when I discovered that instead of opening the file in a new window, all of the objects in the svg file was - how to explain? - sort of just transfered into the new window.
I discovered this with version Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939 (yes, that is slow reaction time )

I would love that someone could explain more about this feature, as I'm not familiar with using it.
