Rotate around defined center

Postby fillotassi » Thu Sep 07, 2017 4:55 pm

Hello Inkscapers,

can I rotate a shape around a defined center?

In a similar way to what I'd do in Illustrator: https://media.giphy.com/media/xT9IgO9o2 ... /giphy.gif

When you select an object using the :tool_selector: tool you should see some arrows around the bounding box for resizing. Click on the object again to toggle those arrows to ones for rotating (corners) and skewing (sides). In the middle of the object you'll see a cross representing the rotation centre - you can drag that cross somewhere else. If you want to put it back in the centre, Shift-click on it.
