Hi everyone,
I'm trying to get an image similar to this one using Create Tiled Clones. http://screencast.com/t/MXxUSS0gk. However, I can't get with the right parameters of the options.
Maybe I'm wrong but it's not necessary to create the whole images, maybe cloning a main circle in a path of 180 ° and then copy them and re-scale the result could be the same, but not even that first step I'm able to do.
Any help will be appreciated.

Help with clones
Re: Help with clones
Hi.
By tiled clones with alot of try and error you can make something similar. Sizes differing by an exponent.
While, on the other hand, you can generate something close by using live path effect interpolate subpaths.
Only difference is that the sizes of the circles will follow each linearly.
So the cheap trick is, drawing a circle, duplicating it and combining with the original.
Then with the node tool scaling down the subpaths and putting them close to position, then adding the interpolate lpe and editing it's trajectory path.
Actually that trajectory path can be replaced by pasting in a pre-drawn path's codes in the xml editor, so that you can have a more accurate result without editing handles.
Or figuring out iteration formulas.
Which can also work nonetheless.

Re: Help with clones
Hi.
Have a look at this thread. The procedure for creating something similar to what you want is described.
Make sure to move the rotation center of the original circle before applying the tiled clones.
Failing to do so will result in all the circles being made in the same spot.
Good Luck.

Re: Help with clones
Thanks for the help to both of you.
Ragnar, if you look at that thread, I was also the one who asked . Thanks again.

Re: Help with clones
By the way, I was thinking on the same tutorial, but the size of the circles is decreasing and increasing while the spiral is closing down. I guess that can't be done with tiled clones, am I right?
Re: Help with clones
Hi.
No, you are not. If you have a look at this TC scale dialog you will see the exponent variable which is used to vary the size of the cloned objects.
