Hi all,
here my problem: I draw a little square and clone it, 10 x 10. Then I add a letter, let's say T, put it in the middle of the clones and I want to get the intersection of that. I can't do it! For any reason, nothing happens and I'm sure I'm forgetting something to do with the clones in the middle.
Can anyone help me, please?
Thanks.
Mauricio

Re: Intersection with clones
I don't think clones can do path operations. Maybe break the links and try.
Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Re: Intersection with clones
Hi again,
thanks for your answer. So next question is: how can you do what I want with Inkscape?

Re: Intersection with clones
Hi.
Here is the solution:
Here is the solution:
- draw the square
- group it (Ctrl+G)
- clone it (Alt+D)
- select the parent and enter the group (Ctrl+Enter/double clicking)
- type text (F8)
- add square to selection and make intersection (Ctrl+*)
- exit the group (Ctrl+Backspace/click on object outside the group)
Re: Intersection with clones
Hi Lazur,
it didn't work (or I don't know how to do it). I used Tiled clones, see at the picture: http://screencast.com/t/qOXorzRiOcoE
It doesn't matter for me if the intersection is with a Text or a shape, I just want to get a kind of shape formed by squares.

Re: Intersection with clones
Oh so each tile should be different.
That means, no clones to be used if you want it intersected.
Select all tiles, release clone link and combine them together (Ctrl+K), then you can intersect it with the text.
Another way could be to just clip the text out of a group made of the clones, to achieve that look.
