Missing Font

Postby tazz222003 » Fri Jul 13, 2007 1:39 pm

Hello everyone, this is my first post here so I apologize for any errors.

I'm in great need of help. I recently installed Inkscape and started using it for logo work. I'm on the last bit of a logo I am working on when I realize the font I've been using in all my other programs is not on the Inkscape list. The font- "Qlassik Bold" is an Open Type Font. It seems to be the only font I am missing. It doesn't seem to be an error in receiving the font type- I have other Open Type Fonts that are still on my Inkscape font list and work just fine.

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it very, very much. I can't just pick another font (wish I could) since my client wants this particular one. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Do you mean this one?

http://www.dafont.com/qlassik.font

If so, I just googled the font name and it was on the first page near the top. DaFont is great and I also use http://www.blambot.com

Yes, that is the font that I am using for my logo work. For some reason it will not show up in the inkscape font list. Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I just purchased and downloaded an Open Type Font and it is not appearing in my list. Any suggestions on how to find the font/fix the problem?
Thank you for any help.

I have found that I order to get inkscape to recognize fonts I would have to convert them to truetype. If you have linux then this application is a breeze to set up. But if you are on windows then it takes a little more effort but it pays off when you have a font that you really want to use but inskape does not recognize it. You could just use the font in the Gimp then convert font to a path and then export to inscape, but with that process you lose the abililty to just manipulate it as text. I have a bunch of type 1 fonts and had to convert them in order for inkscape to use them.
