Re: Help please
If you can attach an example svg file (or post a link to a file) for evaluation, that will help.
Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

Re: Help please
What do you mean "saved to memory card"?
Edit
Ok, I just looked it up. I've only heard of that for cameras. Even though Wikipedia says they're used with all kinds of electronic devices. Which kind of electronic device were you using? I just can't think of any device that uses a memory card, which Inkscape can be installed on. So I'm curious if you might have Inkscape installed somewhere unexpected.

Re: Help please
Some computers, esp. laptops have memory card slots. That said, the OP may mean that they saved to a flash drive.
It would also be helpful to know what version of Inkscape and system. Could be the memory/stick/card/drive is corrupt or not compatible.
I have recently come across some Mac OSX files indicated with svg filenames, but get the "invalid svg file" message. These files might be formatted in the mac osx "journaled" method.
