Hi guys... I can't find an answer to this, so if it's already been posted, forgive me.

When I color an object, and then use gradient, it works perfectly fine. But, if I try to move that object, the gradient effect doesn't follow the object. I have no clue how to make it "stick". I tried grouping, but I'm kinda lost now. I'm sure it's something really simple that I just don't know since I'm not totally familiar with Inkscape.

I experienced the same and found a solution in the Inkscape manual:

Check the Note that's mentioned there.

Switch to the Select tool, then tooltip those 4 small icons on the right (in the 2nd toolbar).

(Erik already said the same, but my answer is more straightforward.)

Thanks for the help guys. I read through that entire manual and came out feeling dumber than when I started. I'll try the second thing and see if it works.
