I'm only barely starting to learn about computer graphics. So I can't really offer the kind of comments you want. But I think it's a great image -- very nice!

I like how you put the thick, partially transparent border outside all the black strokes around the little boy. It's a really nice touch. I like how it sets the boy out against the heart.

Keeping in mind my non-pro status, there are a couple of things I notice that seem out of place. Something about the placement of the little guy's ear seems weird to me, like it's a little too close to his eyes maybe. I think I only notice it because everything else is proportioned so well.

Also, I think I'm seeing what I've heard called "pixelation" around the 'Love Boy' lettering. I'm not sure if you intend the letters to have a fine white outline, or if it's the result of some part of the process you described (the original photo, maybe)?

But what do I know?!! Mostly I think it's a wonderful image, which I'd be glad to see in any gallery! And skill to which I surely aspire.

All best :D

thanx , and you r right about the ear it's too close to his eye .. thanx for notice .
second : maybe i'm a little slow to understand but i don't get you point about the pixelization thing ?
but any way the word has no error or something and if u where meaning that i can improve it with some kind of technique ... that could be done ...
at last ... thanks for your comment

I don't think there is anything to improve. I know what it's like to look at your work and think, "it could be better', but whilst it could be changed, there could be more detail, or more colour, or more shading, that doesn't necessarily make it better.

Having said that, finding something better is often just a process of exploring your own ideas to see what you like.

This is normal.

Well pixelation might not be the right word. But around the black letters there's a very, very fine white line. But micro says
This is normal.

so it sounds like it's really a non-issue.

Off topic:
I understand pixelation (when using a raster type program) to be an area where you have 2 very contrasting colors, side by side, or one on top of the other, you can see at the border of where the colors change, either a light or dark (depending on the colors used) band -- a very, very thin band usually. But if you scale the image larger, the very thin band is exaggerated. Oh let's see, I think I have an example....

Ok, this is something I did with GIMP, my very 1st attempt to do any kind of graphics. Yes I know, very crude, but I'm only showing it because it demonstrates what I'm calling pixelation. In the small one, the colors meet, without much distortion. But when I scale it up, notice how there are some unintended anomalies between some of the colors. For example, between blue and green, see the thin dark band? That's where the pixels are trying to make the transition from blue to green, but end up with that darker strip. And if you look closely, you can see similar, but less obvious pixelation between the lavendar and violet colors.

This is one of the reasons I prefer Inkscape and vectors. I can scale paths to my hearts content, and not have to worry about pixelation (worry as much -- it does happen with Inkscape, but in my experience, not nearly as much, or as bad).
