Hello All,
I am working through the exercises in the Quick Start section of the Inkscape Manual. One exercise, the Fuji Hiking and Mountaineering Club logo, has a step where specific nodes are selected, converted to Corner Nodes, then straightened to allow manipulating the letter "C" etc. When I click the straight line conversion button nothing appears to happen. The manual example seems to indicate that the two corner nodes and the nodes between them which are all on a curved segment, will form a straight line when this button is clicked. Any suggestions?

Deploy the button while the nodes are selected and it should work.
Any chance to upload your svg file if this dosen`t help?

From what you describe it's not exactly true, they will become straight line segments but if there were more than two nodes the whole curve will not magically straighten. You might have to delete the nodes in between to get that effect.
Your mind is what you think it is.

Thanks to both that replied. In fact I ended up removing the nodes between the corner nodes and the segment straightened out. I am really enjoying learning Inkscape as it is my first encounter with vector graphics. Thanks again.
