This is a read-only archive of the inkscapeforum.com site. You can search for info here or post new questions and comments at I have looked but I haven't found a way to change the colours of guide lines after I place them.
I was using them to layout the spacing for a tile floor pattern and after awhile it began to get really confusing not being able to quickly separate one from the other.
If this is not a feature already, I think it would be beneficial to have added in.

Shift Ctrl D to get document properties. Go to the Guide tab, double click the color bar next to the text "Guide color:" box for a pop up menu.

? will this change the colour for all guides at once or allow me to have different colours for guides in different locations?

Just FYI there is an elaborate blueprint about improving guides http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php ... mprovement, it includes guides of different color in the same document.
