pieces of lettering stay behind

Postby laneyink » Wed Oct 07, 2015 5:28 am

I've been using inkscape for a few years but only for stencil making so I'm not real good with it. Just got a new Mac and downloaded the new version .91 of inkscape. not sure if its the new version or some setting that i now need to change but everytime i type words and change to the select and transform arrow to move the words some pieces of my letters stay behind or it duplicates and leaves a "trail" of pieces/copys wherever I've moved the word??? please help

As far as I know, that's an issue with Inkscape's display. I guess it's a bug? But those marks, the trail of pieces are not additional objects on the canvas, and not part of the drawing. I can usually get rid of them by minimizing the window, and then re-maximizing it.

Also, I usually only see it in a very large file. 1 mb file, for me, with only 4 gb RAM, is a large file. However, I'm on windows, so maybe it's not the same thing??

Thanks for your reply. I've used this for years and hadn't seen this until .91 (I'm on a Mac) I sort of thought it was some type of bug but was hopeing it was just a new setting or something I needed to click. Hopefully it will get worked out soon. Thanks again
