Ready-made gradients

Postby seans_potato_biz » Sun Aug 10, 2008 5:20 am

The GIMP comes with a range of ready-made gradients, but Inkscape doesn't appear to come with any. I want a rainbow gradient, but it will take some time to set that up myself with perfect spacing. Every Inkscape user around the world could be repeating work that would be better included in the downloaded program, right?

you can import gimp gradients. I don't think we ship with any yet tho.

If the GIMP is open-source, can't Inkscape ship with theirs?

I've been trying this to no avail. How do you manage it? Does it still work for 0.46?

either file>open or drag and drop onto it the window should work.
Dont actually have 0.46 or the gimp here to try it with but it should work.

Neither of those methods yield any effect for me. No error. Just nothing.

You could download and try one of the nightly builds, as SVN seems to have it working properly on windows here for me (vista, but should be same)
