I was wondering if it were possible to import inkscape creations into something like imovie with the view to making simple short clips?
Is this feasible or completely impossible?
If so can anyone suggest a method for a newbie illustrator to put together little films (preferably with open source.)

Hi, I'd rather recommend Synfig Studio for vector based animations. It's a free open source tool as well which supports very basic SVG importing.

Thanks for the link.. looks interesting. But afraid it's no longer (or has never been) available for Macs (according to their download page).
I'll keep an eye on it.. hopefully a Mac version will be produced at some point.

Virtual machine is a solution. I use all the Linux program I need also on my Win computer (8 Gb ram) with a virtual Linux OS.
If you have 3-4 Gb it's no pain at all, 2Gb it's a little pain, but doable.
