I don't understand your issue? Are you simply trying to trace an image?

PS. If you want us to view your svg file properly then you will need to embed the jpg image so that we can see it. ;)

Yes, I would have to side with microUgly's comment. It's a rather odd looking image but I still don't understand what is troubling you about tracing it. Maybe Path>Trace Bitmap is what you really want. I don't know...just a guess.

I guess you want this special paw-print rendered in the minimalistic style of the Jack Wolfskin logo?

Don't go for :tool_ellipse: . This will look too standardized. Try this: :tool_pencil: draw around the print, and return to the square that marks the beginning of the Path, this will close it.

Work on the shape with this tool :tool_node:
and simplify using Strg+L

For deeper discussion, read the fine manual: http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/index.html , or look into one of the tutorials listed under "Inkscape Resopurces" here in the forum.

try again with :tool_pencil:

Fill : Black,
Stroke : None;

After painting, press Strg (Ctrl) + L , A LOT (10-20x).

Use the :tool_node: -> the nodes can be taken to where you need them, + there are handles that rule where the curve is going. Try a little.

The jpg is not good for automatic tracing. But: If you still have the original (the cast), try filling the grooves with black, make a new photo, and trace that.

I still have the cast. Black is a good idea.

Thanks

Hi.

I think you just need to make the blots bigger. If you look at the bottom of your cats paw you'll see each pad is almost touching.

I think it looks like you're on the right track, what you should try is, using the :tool_node: , you should make all the nodes "smooth" (upper left, hover over the icons of the tool, to get tool-help).

Then, Strg+A to mark everything, and Strg+Shift+) to expand the blobs. Should look great.

Thanks for you help.
I think you mean the tool 8 "half circle with the blob"?!
If I use Strg+A nothing happen. Only if I use :tool_node: klick on one part and then Srg+a work for me.
But Strg+Shift++ is the same like Strg ++

Strg + + ? i did not recommend that.

"Strg" and "Shift" and " ) " is what i mean. (You could go to Path > Outset, too.)

If Strg A does not work for you, just work at one blob at a time. Select one blob, Do "Outset".
