Not sure if I am headed in the right direction but the latest builds http://inkscape.modevia.com/macosx-snap/?M=D don't work for me. Inkscape-17979-10.5-i386, Inkscape-17892-10.5-i386 both crash.



Inkscape-0.45.1-2-UNIVERSAL started working for me only after I updated to x11 2.1.4 from http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/xquartz. I just got off work so I am gonna take a bath before looking up libXrandr. Any pointers before that would be much appreciated.

i did the Update, but it does not help.
New Inkscape 0.46 does not run on my Macbook with System 10.5.2: after DoubleClick it says, that First Run can take several Minutes because of FontCaching. But nothing happens. I tried to start X11 first. No Errormessage, no crashlog. Its only in the Tasklist for 1 Second.
More Ideas?

Hi,
I passed this failure by doing this three steps:

1. open a xterm window

2. go to Inkscape binary in the application folder


3. Start Inskape and ignore warnings


After a while Inkscape seems to have the font-cache rebuild and starts. Then the app can be started directly from "desktop" again. This worked for me...

you are not using die default xQuartz version that ships with OSX. I would recommend that you ask the xQuartz developers for this bug.

Ditto here. After about 3-4 minutes, xterm finally started spinning and after LOTS or errors, Inkscape loaded. However all is not fine in Oz. The button bar is messed up. LOTS of icons failed to load. Here's a sample of the output:

Same result as Miguk with Danji's solution, but everything worked fine upon relaunch from app icon.
