It is not looking good. But at least I acquired more experience with this work.

4th finished inkscape work!
Re: 4th finished inkscape work!
Oh well, thanks for asking
The tracing... it's average. Some circular shapes present "mountains". I have to say that it's something I have problems too... when deleting and moving nodes, later I see that the continuity of a smooth curve is lost, and it hard to recover it back. To curved shapes, like a cup, or a dish, a possible method is to use the ellipse tool , and use boolean operations
colors:
mmm ... for me they are ok. Related to that is the use of them for shadowing. It's better to do the shadows based in an actual model or photograph.
style:
To show that it's a tea ¿how about to put (or simulate) some transparency to the green areas?
Are you using some kind of help for the perspective?
Can you locate the main point of light for your scene?
I can't talk much about composition and balance. Maybe some one other could help here?

If you have problems:
1.- Post a sample (or samples) of your file please.

It would not look the way I wanted.

I used an image as reference.

Especially on the liquid inside the cup. I guess it was too late to correct that and I left it that way.
Thank you!

Hi.
Nice work! A few more tweaks and it will be "ready for production"!
One method to use to get the "correct" shape for the "fluid outline" is to use
the "Ellipse by 5 points" extension;
To use just draw a line with 5 points - leave the line selected and run the extension.
The extension is very handy when "hand-tracing" any round objects from photographs.
A few tutorials worth looking at;

Re: 4th finished inkscape work!
I don't see why there should be a problem with the cup's content whereas the cup itself looks fine. The opening of the cup is a clean ellipse. Simply use this as the base for the liquid as well (just so it has the same perspective/tilt as the cup), scale and move down, then move it down in the hierarchy until it's behind the front "wall" and in front of the back of the cup. Or clip the liquid to the opening of the cup. Simple approach but I think this should do the trick.

That is good ragstian! Very handy as you said.
I made some simple things:
Thanks for the tips, everybody!
