White Lines on Patterns

Postby jkuhl » Sun Jan 08, 2012 10:07 am

I'm having a slight issue with patterns. I get white lines when I zoom in or out at random and I'm not sure how to fix it. The pattern is a parchment pattern I got off deviantArt from a free stock, that I cut down a bit in GIMP.

Here is a screenshot of the problem:

The image is a map of a fantasy nation. The water and land on that map are simple blue and green items with a low opacity. Underneath is a large rectangle that contains the pattern (the object selected to the left is the pattern source.)

I have sort of hotfixed the problem by duplicating the rectangle, giving it the same pattern fill, then flipping it both horizontally and sending it to the back, but I was wondering if there was a better fix.

The pattern is a square but it is not a power of 2 (eg, 64x64 or 128x128.)

Hi jkuhl,
Yeah, that's a "bug". Not a true bug, to my understanding, but definitely a known issue. There's a filter in this topic which can help: viewtopic.php" onclick="readonly();return false;"postlink-local" href="viewtopic1509-3.html?f=29&t=9866">viewtopic.php?f=29&t=9866. Although I don't know if it works for pattern tiles? But I suspect the 1st one will be the best solution :D
